Lazy stairs / observe with pleasure
For a competition for Paradiso ‘Liefde in de stad’ it was asked to propose a setting to experience love for the city Amsterdam.
There are little viewpoints in the city and searching for new Dutch „hills“, an outline of them could be found in the staircases along the Grachten. These staircases seem public, but are private at the same time. It is the case of a semi-public staircase and its relation to a private house.
Taking the archetype of a staircase into the design of street furniture, offers a new way of observing your city. It is the love to spend a while to observe and to breath in the atmosphere of the space without any hurry.
